"Envisioning the Future: SM Prime’s Sustainable City Developments"


Manila, August 6, 2024 — The blueprint for a thriving city involves innovation, community-building, and sustainability. SM Prime (SMPHI) is making this vision a reality through its commitment to developing integrated, sustainable properties.



“Our vision for the future goes beyond financial success. At SM Prime, we are dedicated to building legacy properties that foster vibrant, resilient communities for generations to come,” said Jessica Bianca Sy, Lead Executive for Design, Innovation and Strategy at SMPHI and SMDC.

Sy shared SM Prime’s vision during the 7th Annual APRU Sustainable Cities and Landscapes Conference and Student Symposium 2024, organized by UPLB. The event brought together experts to discuss how science, technology, and innovation can shape sustainable urban living.

With cities growing rapidly and energy demands rising, SM Prime is pioneering renewable energy initiatives and disaster-resilient infrastructure. Sy revealed that SM Prime is taking a systems-based approach to urban design, embedding infrastructure for transport, energy, and biodiversity at the plot level of future developments.

“We believe this will define the future of cities in the Philippines, and we are committed to delivering this vision for future generations,” Sy added.
